Customer data, invoices, receipts or any paper-based records that contain personal or sensitive information should be securely stored and when no longer required, securely destroyed in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection guidelines.

With personnel security cleared to BS7858 vetting standard and operating within BS15713 processes for collection and destruction of confidential material, you can be assured that all appropriate measures to protect data are taken.

Some questions that we are frequently asked…

Where there is a regular need for secure storage and collection of confidential waste, we can provide lockable security cabinets which can be located in your offices. These have a document slot to enable ‘posting’ of confidential waste into a changeable liner. Our operatives will attend site on a scheduled basis to exchange the filled liner and lock the cabinet ready to be filled again.

Alternatively for regular or ad hoc/one off collections, we can provide heavy duty shred sacks for you to fill with up to 15Kg of confidential waste each. These are secured with a security tag and collected when required.

There is no minimum however depending on the location and frequency of collections a minimum visit charge may be required. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we will provide a quotation based on your specific needs.

Our main areas are Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire for regular and ad hoc collections however we can venture further afield to support customers depending on quantity. Contact us to find out more.

Your shredded paper is mixed with other customers shredding into bales weighing approx. 80Kg and recycled at UK paper mills. Depending on the paper quality this could be to make new paper products or used in producing tissue and hand towels. 100% of all paper collected is recycled.

Yes, when collected we will request a signature for confirmation of the collection confirming the number of sacks, weight or number of cabinets emptied. This information is then sent back to the customer electronically as a Waste Transfer Note and Certificate of Destruction. This document can then be produced for your own audit and compliance processes.

No, the shredders used are very heavy duty industrial units and can easily handle paperclips, stapes and bindings. Metal objects are removed from the paper during the recycling process at the paper mill. We do ask that as much plastic (wallets/folders) is removed prior to bagging up as this will impact on the ability to recycle the materials.

We have partners in Wrexham, Chester and Crewe that are able to receive confidential waste for destruction on our behalf. These partners provide secure storage for sacks of documents for a short period whilst awaiting collection by Shredding UK.
